Hey There all!!

I made a big Booboo!!
I was setting a bridge on a steel string 6 and the bridge moved and I didn't realize it. Anyway I drilled the pin holes. Therefore, I removed the bridge and I need to re-drill new holes.
Before I do I must fill the old holes.
Does anyone know what would be the best filler to use?

Titebond with sitka dust?
Epoxy with sitks dust?

OR?
Please help me out here!!
Thanks, Walter WalterK38608.6267476852

Hi Walter

Do you have any dowel rod ? On repairs I use a small piece of dowel glued into the hole.

Hope this helps.

When they do this on an airplane, they use a plug that can't be pulled through. Just thought I'd throw that in.

I like the new tool by StewMac, which allows you to repair the bridge patch with tapered plugs. Then you can just cut round plugs of spruce and bridge patch material and you're back at it again.

Just remember, measure once, cut twice. Or was that....?

I use dust and superglue. This is stronger than the wood. Dowels well I don't like them as the grain is now running perpendicular to the top. I use masking tape under the top and then set a little dust , SG activator and do the till they are filled , sand flush then reset the bridge and you are good to go
